Love Iliza! My daughter introduced me to her videos. We had tickets to one of her shows in 2020 that got postponed. When it finally got replanned my daughter had just had a baby so I took my cousin/bestie for her 50th birthday. It was a blast. The ugly bra had the whole place laughing while shaking their heads.
Been there with the crazy band mom days. Sometimes miss them but I do love my sleep.
That's awesome that you got to see the show live! (And yes, I am trying to be aware that these high school years are going to go quickly and I only have one kid so this is the only chance I have to enjoy them.) :)
My oldest child (teenager) has informed me that GIFs are no longer cool, but they lean over my shoulder to see the GIFs my friends and I are exchanging, so… I’m calling their bluff.
Laughing so hard at the ugly bra quote. I have underwear from before I met my now-husband. He thinks that he hates them and throws them away, but he so far hasn’t correctly identified them. I wish I could magically still shop at circa 2000 Gap for underwear because their run has been impressive.
I read the Chance of a Lifetime series after adoring Love Lettering. Looks like I liked the first book in that series the best. According to my review (which serves as my book journal), I had mixed feelings about Luck of the Draw but appreciated the maturity level of the characters. Kate Clayborn typically does an excellent job of writing characters who are actual adults.
Reading: Recently finished Nettle & Bone (excellent!). Currently reading The Teenage Brain (Frances Jensen) and Portrait of a Thief, and enjoying both.
Watching: Alone, over the top of my book alongside my husband.
I'll have to go back and read the first book. Usually I don't read things out of order but I was drawn in by the setup of this one. And lol on the underwear. I really do think things used to be made better. I have T-shirts from high school that I sleep in and they are still in great shape--and high school was 25 years ago.
1. My parents were band parents for nearly 20 years through various kids, uniform styles and directors. They have two children with music degrees. One was a band teacher now principal, the other is me, medically retired but learning my 4th instrument. The last three of us kids were in choir school too. It really, really helps the brain. All humans need music and arts whether they know it or not.
2. Love female comedians! I have bad bras, ugly bras and “dang, do I have to?” Bras.
3. What I’m reading: I’m a voracious reader and working on writing two different fiction genre books. I have three degrees, read in my fields, love science, history, gardening, etc. and enjoy all sorts of fiction sub genres.
4. As a gardener, we’re getting ready for winter in Western Canada. So, batch baking, cooking, seed gathering, last harvest, etc.
blessings to you and your family- especially the band student!
Thanks, Cindy! And yeah, the kiddo is all in on band. He's definitely a music kid (and we're pretty sure he has passive perfect pitch, which he uses like a party trick with other band members lol. They make him close his eyes and test him.) He was also in school of rock for 5 years, so he plays guitar, drums, and bass. For school, he plays rack right now which is like 10 different percussion things he rotates through in the performance. He wants to make music a career, so we shall see. :)
Never Have I Ever is such a joy! I'm very much looking forward to the new season. <3
Isn't it? It's so well done.

I love GIFs. Allegedly the word "awesome" is no longer used by the kids. Oh, well.
My husband has the baseball playoffs on TV, and I started watching Christmas movies today.
do have an ugly bra, but it's not beloved. It's worn in desperation.
Lol, I know the desperation bra. Because I've lost weight, I have one bra that actually fits right now so it's definitely the desperation bra.
