The second Happy Planner you got is the one I'm using for my yearly planner. It's so pretty. I couldn't pass it up. I use Sarra cannon's HB90 method, so I plan for 90 days at a time. It's worked really well for me over the years. I also have paper calendars on my wall broken down by quarters for quick at a glance things. I love planning! And washi tape.

It really is so pretty! And I love Sarra's method. The quarterly planning can really be a game changer.

I am thinking of looking into HB90 bc I can't fathom an entire year at a time.

I make goals for the year, but I definitely change and adjust them when I check in quarterly. I think using quarters is a lot easier to get my head around. What would I like to make progress on in the next three months? And Sarra’s system is good because it helps you narrow that down and not try to squeeze everything into a quarter. She has a lot of free YouTube videos on her HeartBreathings channel if you want to get a feel for her methods. I got a lot out of her HB90 class.

I follow her Sarra cannon channel so might roll over to heart breathings.

I started planning last year and I am hooked! Love your line up. Mine are half letter discs using Jane's Agenda for work, Happy Planner Mini for on the go and Classic for memory keeping, and for work I also added a A5 book journal to track my daily thoughts. I also have Hobinichi weeks for health and A6 for journaling.

I love that you just started planning last year and you already have a giant planner stack. You're all in! :)

Wow. I admire your organizational skills. I love pens (collect too many) and paper. I do need to make lists, so I can check it off! My son bought me a wall-mounted glass board to make lists, etc., and I still grab the nearest spiral-bound notebook to write on. Thanks for the Cultivate What Matters site. I probably need to order their Brain Dump Journal to start, and I really like their faith-based Write the Word journals. Watched the New Year in (in the background) while reading, and had a glass of wine in my new souvenir goblet from the Tower of London.

Sounds like a lovely New Year's! And there's no such thing as too many pens. :)

I'm blown away at your organizational skills (both with the planners and all that Washi tape! 😄

I have never used planners, but now I'm tempted.

They don't work for everyone, but it's a good combo of practical and artsy for me. :)

I love all of your planners. It makes me want to go out and buy some. In the past, I've used Tul planners because I'm in love with the disc system. This year, I'm going to try bullet journaling in my regular journal. I find I start a planner but then a few months down the road I forget to use it. I write in my journal constantly so maybe this will work.

I love a disc planner too. My Cloth & Paper was disc. And my planner and the Powersheets stay open on my desk at all times so that helps me stick with them. If they're out of sight, they're out of mind for me.

I use Simplified, which is pretty similar to Day Designer. I have used the spiral Happy Planner and liked it. I used Bloom, but I wasn't crazy about theirs--I like a bigger planner--but I supported them because they're alumnae of the same university as me.

Simply Gilded has pretty washi tape and she's a small business owner in Texas, if you're not familiar with her. It's not Michael's cheap, but it is pretty.

I only use one planner specifically for books but I'm a sucker for planner content. I love seeing how people use their systems. MAN THAT'S A LOTTA WASHI TAPE! :D

Oooh, you know I love the planner stuff! Thanks for all these great notes, and I like that you use multiple planners. I used Silk & Sonder on and off for a couple years. It’s a monthly subscription, and while it has a lot of great features and a fun community, I didn’t feel I was using it enough to justify the expense. The features I liked the most were the weekly habit tracker and weekly planning pages—setting up priorities and how you wanted to FEEL for the week ahead, instead of just all the stuff you needed to do. Then past that, there were vertical daily pages. This year I switched to Curation, which has a great setup for the year of bucket list, intentions, goals/missions. Then you get into weekly planning pages and the days themselves for writing and to-dos. I like it so far, but then it’s only been 2 days. I think I’ll need to keep a separate notebook for meditation journaling. And then one for lists. I realllllly like lists to brain dump and focus—not to mention the satisfaction of checking the thing off.

I hadn't heard of the Curation planner but just looked it up and I really like the layout of that! I agree with you about using the planner for how you want to feel vs. just the To Do list/productivity stuff. I've made a point, especially after going through burnout, to put things in my planner that are energy-giving instead of just the things that deplete. That's another thing I like about the Powersheets. It has you evaluate life stuff not just work goals--like how is your home life going, how about your health, your learning, your community, what good things happened this month/year, etc. Hope you enjoy the new planner. :) Happy New Year!

As you know I've been a planner girl too for many years. I've been using the Linda Tong planner for the past two years and LOVE it. It's a weekly, not a daily, and each month is handdrawn with a different them. I frankenplan the first few pages of the planner to put in goal work stuff, and you can order personalized ones with extra planning pages.

This is amazing, Roni! I love the idea of paper planners and have spent so very much money on them over the years. However, my scattered and ever-evolving self has found that digital works best for me. I don't use a planner, per se ~ I just rely heavily on my Google Calendar, Notes and Reminders apps as well as a wall calendar for things the family needs to know about. I have a book notebook that I track forthcoming releases in, as well as sticky notes in that notebook with monthly TBRs and such as well. Looking at your drawer of washi tape is inspiring, though!!

Thanks! And yes, I think it's always a journey to figure out what works best for us. My husband can only do digital because paper just gets misplaced. I keep a digital calendar for appointments and reminders, but I've found I need a physical To Do list so I can check things off or I just forget. Plus, I like the crafty aspects of it. It makes it fun for me. :)
