I’m so glad you’ve discovered the joy of Anne. One of my all-time favorite books!

I can't believe it took me this long to pick it up! It was pure magic. :)

Anne and almost any LMM books are slump breakers for me. Will check out the Moore book.

You might enjoy Carly Fortune’s romance This Summer Will be Different. It’s a love story to Prince Edward Island with lots of Anne references.

The Blue Castle is another LMM fave of mine that I discovered later in life-as it was a character’s fave book in a novel I was reading and I couldn’t believe there was a Montgomery book I’d never heard of.

Going to see if I can find Felicity. Thanks!

Ooh, glad to hear This Summer Will Be Different is good. I chose it as one of my Aardvark book club picks, so it's sitting on my TBR. :) And Felicity is streaming on Hulu if you need it.

I bought a beautiful copy of Anne of Green Gables a couple of years ago at a local Goodwill. It was in great shape ..like new. I however still need to read it. Your review definitely makes me want to start it.

you unlocked a nostalgic set of memories I didn't even know I had! my grandparents lived in Kingston, NY and we totally did jaunts to Woodstock, the Culinary Institute, and FDR + Eleanor's house. I loved your book recommendations and will be checking them out! (Personally, I am a bigger Emily of New Moon fan than Anne of Green Gables, although I love both -- there was just something extra special about Emily for me, as a kid)

It was such a beautiful area. We really enjoyed the trip. And I've heard that about the Emily books. A number of people recommended them to me because Emily is a writer. I'm looking forward to reading her story.

Hooray! I'm so happy you enjoyed the audio of Anne! Rachel McAdams does a lovely job.

Anne of Green Gables was the book that cemented my book dragon status. I got it for Christmas when I was 8, and I still have that copy 🩷

Oh, I love that you have your original copy! The book that hooked me on reading when I was that age was A Wrinkle in Time. I can't believe I missed this one along the way.

A most excellent adventure, delayed flight and all. The tours, the words, the overcoming slump books—everything was grand and hope-inspiring. How ‘bout that!

It definitely was an adventure! I'm just glad after the first two days it turned into a less disastrous one, lol.
